Dylai rhieni/gofalwyr fod yn ymwybodol fod dyletswydd ar ysgolion i sicrhau lles pob disgybl. Mae'r cyfrifoldeb yma'n golygu bod yr ysgol:

• Yn dilyn polisi a gweithdrefnau amddiffyn plant;
• Yn gwneud rhieni a gofalwyr yn ymwybodol o'i pholisi amddiffyn plant. Cysylltwch â'r Pennaeth, neu gweler uchod, os hoffech gopi o'r Polisi Amddiffyn Plant.
• Wrth ymateb i unrhyw byderon a godir, efallai angen cyfeirio plentyn i'r asiantaethau gofal plant statudol os teimlir ei bod / ei fod mewn perygl o niwed difrifol;
• Yn ymrwymo i weithio gyda rhieni/gofalwyr i sicrhau lles pob plentyn.
• Yn ymrwymo i helpu rhieni neu gofalwyr i ddeall os mae atgyfeiriad yn cael ei wneud i'r gwasanaethau cymdeithasol neu'r heddlu, bod hyn wedi ei wneud er lles y plentyn a bydd yr ysgol yn ran o unrhyw ymholiad gan y gwasanaethau cymdeithasol neu ymchwiliad gan yr heddlu i lesiant y plentyn a'i gynnydd / chynnydd addysgiadol;
• Yn hysbysu rhieni neu gofalwyr o lesiant a chynnydd academaidd y plentyn.

Parents/Carers should be aware that schools have a responsibility to ensure the well-being of all pupils. This responsibility means that the school:

• Will have a child protection policy and procedures;
• Should make parents or carers aware of its child protection policy. Contact the headteacher if you would like a copy of the Child Protection Policy.
• Any concern that is raised, may require that a child be referred to the statutory child welfare agencies if it is considered that they are at risk of significant harm;
• Should endeavour to work with parents/carers regarding the welfare of each child.
• Should help parents or carers understand that if a referral is made to social services or the police, it has been made in the best interests of the child and that the school will be involved in any child protection enquiry or police investigation in relation to a child's welfare and educational progress;
• Keep the parents or carers informed of the welfare and educational progress of the child.
